Invitation to the Glioma Invasion Forum in NIB's Marine Biology Station in Piran

Welcome


National Institute of Biology (NIB) cordially invites you to attend the traditional Glioma Invasion Forum in NIB's Marine Biology Station in a charming town of Piran at Slovene Adriatic coast, from 10th to 12th  September 2009.

PROPOSED PROGRAMME FOR FORUM TOPICS:

1)    Cancer stem cell-like populations; their role in MDR and contribution to the invasive phenotype
2)    Novel viral and non-viral vectors for delivery
3)    Nanoparticle delivery systems
4)    Tumour cell heterogeneity and MDR
5)    Tumour microenvironment and tumour/brain interaction
6)    3D in vitro models systems
7)    Angiogenesis
8)    Local diffuse invasiveness
9)    Microscopic techniques
10)    Novel research tools

Call for Abstracts


Authors are invited to submit abstracts. Abstracts should be submitted electronically via e-mail to the address gif2009@nib.si

Proceedings


A Book of Abstracts will be distributed at the meeting.

Venue


The Forum will take place at NIB's Marine Biology Station in Piran (MBP), Slovenia ( www.mbss.org ) one of the most beautiful costal resorts at the Adriatic coast. It offers many possibilities for active recreation, sightseeing and cultural events.

Accommodation


The organizers have booked a sufficient number of rooms in Hotels Bernardin, which is the next neighbour and walking distance from MBP building. Free comfortable dorms for students at the venue at MBP are available (25 beds). Detailed information will be made available on site in May.

Participation Fee


Due to limited resources obtained from Slovene Research Agency, we had to introduce modest participation fee of 100€ per participant, which includes accommodation, Book of Abstract, coffee breaks  and two dinners as well as short trip along the Slovenian coast.  
Participation fee will be collected at registration desk in cash at the opening of the meeting.
