Abstract:

FA2 group has been working in the field of Thermalism during the last 12 years in three different areas: Education and Training, Research and Transfer of knowledge. Our research is focused on the Characterization of Peloids and also on Thermal and Sea Water Sanitation with the use of non-chemical methods.

The FA2 group also collaborate with institutions and companies with the aim of promoting the development of Thermalism and Thalassoterapy all around Europe.

About the lecturers:

Dr. Lourdes Mourelle has a Pharmacy degree and is a PhD in Applied Physics; researcher associated in the FA2 Group (department of Applied Physics, Faculty of Science, University of Vigo) with many publications and books in the field of Peloids, Spa techniques, Cosmetics and Skincare. She is lecturer on the Master´s Degree on Balneotherapy (University of Vigo); she also works as a teacher in a College specialised in Skincare training.

Dr. Carmen Gómez is a Biologist and PhD in Applied Physics; researcher associated in the FA2 Group (department of Applied Physics, Faculty of Science, University of Vigo). She also works as a R&D Technician in the company Peloides Termales SL, which is focused on the development of Peloids and other mineral and marine water products.
