On the 26thof September 2013, the National Instituteof Biology hosted dr. Joel L. Vanneste from The New Zealand Institute for Plant & Food Research Ltd, an expert on plant quarantine bacteria. During his visit, he gave a lecture entitled: "Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae, three years after the discovery in New Zealand: what have we learned about the pathogen, the disease and how to control it?" In the lecture hepresented the fast spread of the disease, associatedeconomic consequences and the knowledge needed to manage it.
