Workshop on “Detection and identification of begomoviruses capable of infecting tomatoes and plants of the family cucurbitaceae - Followup EURL-Virology_PT-2021-01-Begomo”

National Institute of Biology a consortium partner of the European Union Reference Laboratory for pests of plants on Viruses, Viroids and Phytoplasmas (EURL-Virology) within the EURL activities in 2022 organized workshop on “Detection and identification of begomoviruses capable of infecting tomatoes and plants of the family cucurbitaceae - Followup EURL-Virology_PT-2021-01-Begomo”. The workshop was held on March 30th, 2022 via Zoom platform and was attended by 35 participants from 17 EU countries. During the workshop which was leaded by Nataša Mehle, head of the Laboratory for viroids, viruses, and phytoplasmas participants were able to get heads on knowledge about the critical steps of DNA extraction and how to prevent contaminations during the process and how to choose tests perform detection and identification of begomoviruses. During the workshop participants were able to exchange the knowledge through vivid discussion.
