A recent study on the feeding ecology of the basking shark (Myliobatis aquila) in the Gulf of Trieste has shown that it feeds mainly on molluscs, with young individuals showing greater dietary diversity, highlighting the importance of this area as a key feeding ground and possibly also as a breeding area for this species.
