I am a microbiologist with experience in analysing microbial communities using omics approaches, primarily metagenomics. Over the past few years, I have used these approaches to study viral communities in chicken gut, cattle rumen, and silage. I also have experience processing large-scale sequencing datasets using bioinformatics workflows in high-performance computing (HPC) environments. Through this work, I have developed a research interest in the role of bacteriophages in microbial diversity and adaptation, as well as in virus–host interactions mediated by defence mechanisms. In NIB I work with Dr. Kutnjak in the diversity and role of phages in the Lake Bled, phytoplankton aggregates and in the life and death of bloom-forming jellyfish. I am also interested in data visualisation and I am always looking for new ways to present complex data in a clear and accessible way.
