National Institute of Biology, Slovenia, Blood Transfusion Centre of Slovenia and Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade organize International Summer School - Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine, wich will take place in Piran, Slovenia, August 21 - 29, 2009.


The International Summer School is a PhD-level course for graduate students in life sciences focusing on advanced approaches to isolation, characterization and differentiation of stem cells. The aim is to introduce the students to different aspects of stem cell research and development of new strategies for their clinical applications. The course is covering a wide range of topics, starting with the problem of selection of stem cell source, ethical and legislative issues, followed by laboratory scale systems and engineering, and ending with translation to clinics.
