Since 2009, together with the Frankfurt Book Fair and the IARTEM (International Association for Research on Textbooks and Educational Media), the EEPG (The European Educational Publishers Group, representing 20 members from 20 different European countries) has organized the international schoolbook award: THE BEST EUROPEAN SCHOOLBOOK AWARDS (BESA awards).

All entries are thoroughly evaluated (including written feedback) by an independent jury of outstanding experts on schoolbooks and educational media.

The competition is open to all educational publishers across Europe and the winners are celebrated every year at a ceremony on the first day of the Book Fair in Frankfurt.

In the category of high school textbooks the bronze BESA award 2012 was awarded to the book KJER SE ŽIVLJENJE ZAČNE written by Marina Dermastia, Radovan Komel and Tom Turk and published by Rokus-Klett Publishing House.
