Project coordinator: Alenka Žunič Kosi, PhD

Code: INTERREG V-A ITALIJA-SLOVENIJA 2014-2020, NAT2CARE_1473356399

Duration: 1. 10. 2017 - 31. 3. 2020

Lead partner: The Julian Prealps Nature Park (Ente parco naturale delle Prealpi Giulie)

The main goal of the NAT2CARE project is to improve and maintain the state of biodiversity in the Julian Alps, which are an important natural area both in Slovenia and Italy, and are included in the Natura 2000 network. The main objective of the project is to provide innovative activities of cross-border management of habitat types and animal species, especially those living on both sides of the border. These include medium and large carnivores, ungulates, birds of prey, owls, grouses, corncrake and beetles, such as Alpine Longhorn. Important activities of the project will also be aimed at raising awareness and cooperation with the general public, especially with young people.

The project includes 6 partners, 3 from Slovenia (NIB, Triglav National Park, Biotehnical center Naklo) and 3 from Italy (The Julian Prealps Nature Park, The Regional Natural Park of the Friulian Dolomites and University of Udine).
