    We offer bioanalytical laboratory support, toxicology studies, genetic toxicology testing of different samples, residual DNA detection, improvements of production lines through systems biology, and cotoxicology studies.

    On the NIB we have certified GLP laboratory for testing mutagenicity with bacterial reverse mutation assay, or the Ames test (OECD 471).

Towards reliable pest diagnostics: what can EPPO offer to help the laboratories in our region

 

by Françoise Petter,the assistant director of EPPO/OEPP (European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization).

 

 

A word from the lecturer:

 

The EPPO programme on diagnostics includes the preparation of pest specific diagnostic protocols and the development of horizontal guidelines in particular on quality assurance and accreditation. The objective of this programme is to ensure reliable and harmonized plant pest diagnostic in the EPPO region. Pest specific standards are reviewed regularly to ensure that they include recent techniques such as real-time PCR and sequencing.

 

About lecturer:

 

Ms Petter studied agronomy in France and first worked for the French National Plant Protection Organisation. She begun her carried as the head of Paris airports inspection teams. She then joined the national level of the French NPPO in 1994 where she was mainly responsible of nursery surveillance programmes. She was also involved in the negotiations of the EU legislation as well as in bilateral negotiations with third countries for French exports programmes.


In 2003 she joined the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization as a deputy director her current position. She is in charge in particular of the coordination of the Diagnostic and pest risk analysis programme.
