WG Dynamics of ocean and marine microbiomes
WG Dynamics of ocean and marine microbiomes
We are focused on studies related to marine microbial ecology, physical oceanography, sedimentology and interdisciplinary physical-biological research.
We study the interactions between marine organisms and their environment, focusing on how biological processes in the ocean are influenced by physical, chemical, and geological factors. It encompasses the diversity of marine life, from microscopic plankton to gelatinous zooplankton, and investigates their roles in oceanic food webs, nutrient cycling, and ecosystem dynamics. By understanding the relationships between marine life and their surroundings, we aim to uncover how these systems respond to natural and anthropogenic changes, such as climate change and pollution, contributing to our knowledge of ocean health and global biogeochemical cycles.
