ki ga bo izvedel dr. István Nagy, z Madžarskega centra za nove generacije sekvenciranja


Predavanje bo potekalo v petek, 30. septembra 2011, ob 9.00 uri, na Morski biološki postaji, Fornače 41, 6330 Piran, v veliki predavalnici.



Kratka najava:

Visoko-zmogljivo sekvenciranje nove generacije (t.i. New Generation Sequencing) predstavlja napredno možnost študija funkcionalne kompleksnosti genomov in transkriptomike. Platforma SOLiD omogoča dva načina spremljanja izražanja genov v vzorcu: digitalno analizo izražanja genov (Digital Gene Expression analysis, DGE) in sekvenciranje celotnega transkriptoma (full transcritpome sequencing, RNA-Seq). Specilalist na tem področju, dr. Istvan Nagy, bo predstavil oba načina analize ter rezultate validacije le-teh s standardno metodo PCR v realnem času (qPCR).


O avtorju:


Dr. István Nagy; PhD in Molecular Immunology (Univ. of Szeged, Hungary), MSc in Molecular Biology (Univ. of Pécs, Hungary). He spent 3 years as a post-doctoral fellow at the Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC, Strasbourg, France) studying the epigenetic control of cell fate determination before returning to Hungary (BAYGEN Institute, Szeged). His main research topic is the innate immune system of the skin, focusing on the intimate relationship of commensal microorganisms and the host cells. He utilizes the power of next-generation sequencing in order to identify mutations accounting for pathogeneticity and antibiotic resistance occurring in skin commensals.
